Highly experienced and professional osteopath Clive Davis runs The Compton Clinic at the Hilton Hotel in Leeds city centre.
In 30 years, Clive has risen to many challenges in his career after graduating from The British School of Osteopathy in 1984.
In 1988 prior to the Seoul Olympic Games, he was appointed a clinical specialist to U.K. Athletics caring for the elite in track and field. Subsequently he was appointed to the England Hockey team for one season. He has also worked in The English Rugby Premiership League with the Bristol Rugby Football Club for two seasons. He is currently with the North Wales Rugby Team.
He currently has working relations with Orthopedic Surgeons and Neurosurgeons in Leeds.
Is he a "Cranial Osteopath"?
He is an Osteopath. He does not differentiate. A few years ago a patient phoned in tears. The conversation went like this ''I have given birth two weeks ago, and have not slept since. I am at the end of my tether with my daughter after a nightmare pregnancy. I cannot go on like this anymore. Please help me?''
Mother and baby consulted. Some treatment to the diaphragm was given as well as some skull treatment. His hands entirely worked on instinct.
The next day, the mum phoned ''I have slept, and so has my baby, thank you.'' Normal sleep patterns were established, and all went well. Mum and baby were content. Check out the video of osteopathic approach with newborn babies, at the top right of this webpage.
The great majority of work is treating office workers sat in front of computers, builders and associated trades. Not to mention dads who have overdone things playing football with their children at the weekend.
Orthotics are prescribed for everything from ballet shoes to running spikes in association with Langer Biomechanics U.K.
In 2000-2001 a Small and Large Animal Osteopathy course at The Animal Osteopathic Centre Wantage Oxford was completed leading to treating animals and subsequent broadcasts on local BBC Radio.
This was great fun and expanded skill sets complimenting human skills. Dogs, rabbits, cats, horses and even fish are now treated.
He is an evidenced based practitioner, regularly updating skills on line with Stanford University Medical School.
The clinic operates from Living Well, The Hilton City, Leeds, Neville Street, Leeds, LS1 4BX.
